Susan G. Komen for the Cure is a volunteer-oriented organization dedicated to eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment. Volunteers enable the organization to strengthen existing programs, add new programs, procure funds and resources, add specialized skills and talents, and increase public awareness of services. Our volunteers carry the powerful message of the Foundation and its work to their friends, families and communities.

Komen currently has more than 75,000 dedicated volunteers giving their time in more than 115 Komen Affiliate cities, including three international Affiliates in Puerto Rico, Italy and Germany.

Our local Tri-Cities Affiliate has dedicated volunteers who work various events which include the Komen Tri-Cities Race for the Cure®. We welcome all volunteers.

Speaker's Bureau has complete Training Sessions The  Tri-Cities Komen Affiliate has completed Speakers Bureau Training Sessions for several groups of women ready to spread the word about Komen mission.  The Speakers' Bureau is a group of trained volunteers who conduct educational presentations on breast health and breast cancer for businesses, organizations, schools, and community groups.  To learn about the next training classes please contact Kathy Visneski (Education Chair) at 423-224-5592 or Education@Tricitieskomen.org  or you may call our Affiliate office at 423-354-0111 for more information.      Race for the Cure® will be racing into the Tri-Cities on October 7, 2007. For more than 20 years, Susan G. Komen for the Cure has been a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative research and community-based outreach programs. Working through a network of U.S. and international Affiliates and events like the Komen Race for the Cure®, Komen is fighting to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by funding research grants and supporting education, screening and treatment projects in communities around the world. This year, more than 1.5 million people are expected to participate in a Komen Race for the Cure®. We invite you to join us!
